Choral Connection is an auditioned chamber choir in Brisbane, Australia. We rehearse every Wednesday night at St Laurence's College South Brisbane. We perform three main concerts per year.

History of the choir

The choir commenced in 2003 and has performed regularly since that time in the Brisbane area. Since  2018  our conductor has been Will Brown, Coordinator Choral Music at St Laurence's, Brisbane. Our accompanist is  Kate Littlewood.

Past musical directors have been Astrid Jorgensen, Kylie Los, Katherine Chan, Aleta King and Paul Holley. Guest conductors have included Ian Knowles, Kate Albury, Tim Smetham and Peter Ingram. The choir has performed with other musical groups such as Amatori, Peace and Choir, Oriana Concert Choir and Brisbane Wind and Brass. We have performed at the 4MBS Music Festival and participated in the ABC Choir of the Year competition. Our community involvements include Christmas performances at Holy Spirit Northside Hospital and St Vincent's Hospital. We perform a varied repertoire, from Renaissance, Baroque, Classical through to contemporary compositions from around the world. Choral Connection is a member of ANCA. We are a supportive group who offer each other great friendship and connection outside of our regular rehearsals and performances.

Mission Statement

Choral Connection is an auditioned SATB community chamber choir with a membership of 35 singers. The choir enjoys performing music representing a variety of musical styles from renaissance madrigals to jazz, multicultural and contemporary compositions. Whilst many choir members are not professional musicians, the group wishes to create and maintain a high standard of choral performance and offer a special musical experience to the residents of Brisbane. Although the primary focus is on making good music come to life, we recognise that there is a very important social element to choral singing and hence the inclusion of Connection in our name.
